Background:

Chichiri is probably the most memorable Fushigi Yuugi character because of his unique quirk: adding a cute "no da!" to the end of nearly every sentence that he speaks.

The fourth Suzaku seishi to be found, Chichiri's powers consist of polymorphing and the use of magic which he learned from Taiitsu-kun, the creator.

Although he only removes it a few times during the series, Chichiri wears a mask which makes him always seem to be smiling and cheerful. The mask, however, is merely hiding the pain of his past from others. When Chichiri does remove his mask (only when he is being utterly serious), we see a scar where his left eye should be. Chichiri refuses to have the scar healed so as to never allow himself to forget his greatest mistake...killing his best friend.
